Since a very early age, both Sensei Cody Stevens and his brother Corey Stevens began learning Martial Art's due to it being the thing to do within the Stevens family. Cody and Corey's mother Lisa Lynn Stevens along with her brothers trained in the striking arts such as Karate, Tae Kwon Doe, and more. Around the age 14, Cody had found a love for new arts other than Karate such as Judo, Taijutsu/Ninjutsu, and Jujutsu eventually meeting his first Budo instructor "Cho Sensei". Sensei cho had given Sensei cody his first real understanding of the Japanese grappling arts. Spending about 2 years training together, Sensei Cody had then moved back to his home town in Columbia, South Carolina with his first born "Ave lee Stevens" to live in his original home with his brother Corey Stevens. Sensei Corey at this time was developing his own brand & Gym "FightLyfe" where we were training everything from Wrestling to MMA, Boxing, Jiu Jitsu, Karate ect. During this time Cody would continue his path and passion in martial arts meeting new instructors like "Mark Murdock" "Nuno Santos" and many more, where Sensei Cody would began to rank under eventually leading to his "Shodan" Black Belt in both the arts of "Budo Taijutsu" and "Nihon JuJutsu" / "Koryu JuJutsu" Around the age of 19. Within the years after, Sensei Cody had put all of his focus on progressing in & teaching "Japanese JuJutsu" in which he would climb to the rank of 4th Dan or (4th Degree Black Belt) Under his friend and Instructor "Nuno Santos". 5 Years later Sensei Cody then received "Godan" rank or (5th Degree Black Belt) under another instructor and friend Sensei Scott Taylor. Sensei Cody has since been spreading the knowledge and love of the Japanese grappling arts, making friends and colleagues around the globe with similar goals and interests with the art, Making it better! to this day the System of "TFC JU-JITSU" strives to grow and progress with a current total of 3 Black Belts and countless KYU ranked members, with multiple students winning matches & MMA fights with "TFC" training. Cody's brother Corey Stevens still has "Fightlyfe" thriving today with one of the best Fitness/Boxing programs in Columbia, SC producing students with multiple "Golden Glove" championships, appearances on ABC News and more. Corey also later received his black belt under his brother Cody Stevens in "TFC JU-JITSU" bringing himself to the table of instructors for this system. Originally rooted from Koryu / Nihon JuJutsu, which means both traditional and modern techniques are practiced by this school with elements of judo and its sister arts. What started between the 8th & 16th century has made its way to the modern world today as "JuJutsu/JuJitsu/JiuJitsu" with many different styles and philosophies which is where a saying from Cody Stevens comes from. "Different spellings, Same Goal". So depending on what you want out of your training, this could be the perfect system for you.
